Quick post from Krakow airport national terminal
Yes they have free wifi here..very useful
Just read about Steve Jobs meeting Obama at an airport back in 2007..the only things that struck me:

1. is the fact that even with the US President Jobs didn't blink..yeh he told him that he would only enjoy a single term as US president as he thought he it way too difficult for factories to stop going to China
and
2. that the fancy shrimp, cod and lentil salad they both had was too fancy for Jobs...

Anyway here's another interesting link from the Huff Post:

Eastern European stereotype...s

Vilniaus Diena - Lithuania
Edward Lucas on the end of Eastern European stereotypes
Twenty years after the fall of the Iron Curtain, stereotypes about Eastern Europe are finally disappearing, writes Edward Lucas in the daily Vilniaus Diena: "The clichee that governments in Eastern Europe are unstable and chaotic is a thing of the past. Next year the Estonian leader Andrus Ansip, who entered office in 2005, will be the longest-standing prime minister in the EU after Luxembourg's eternal leader Jean-Claude Juncker and Spain's Zapatero. By the same token Poland's prime minister Donald Tusk will probably be re-elected in 2011, making him the longest-standing head of government since 1989. Stereotypes about corruption are also outdated: the dividing line now runs between North and South, not West and East. Estonia and Slovenia now come out better in this respect than Spain, Italy and Portugal, while practically all of the countries of Eastern Europe do better here than Greece. Similarly, indicators on competitiveness and credit-worthiness also look optimistic." (20/12/2010)

World indifferent to Turkish crimes in Cyprus

Simerini - Cyprus
World indifferent to Turkish crimes in Cyprus
On Tuesday 36 years ago the Turkish army marched into the north of Cyprus. The conservative daily Simerini writes that the international community's current image of Turkey is too positive: "The country that caused this bloodbath is praised for its good intentions, has become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, chairs the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and is preparing to become a member of the European Union. … The international indifference, international interests, our lack of a strategy as well as our fatalism and our fear have allowed a country that perpetrated a massacre to become a coveted ally and friend. … The confusing dialogue which has been going on for two years, the latest concessions, the plans of foreign decision-makers to find a 'solution' to the Cyprus problem as quickly as possible, and Greece's inability to fulfil its obligations regarding Greek Cypriots have created enormous dangers for our country." Democracy was born in Greece and looks like it's about to die there..

Disgrace or justifiable?

By Malcolm Brabant, BBC News, Athens

I have not seen this level of anger for quite some time, but the cuts that have been announced are much more severe this time and people have realised how much these austerity measures are going to hit them in their pockets.
This demonstration however, looks better organised too, with clear "military" objectives.
But the deaths are going to make the protesters pause. And there is going to be a backlash against the anarchists who are going to be the main suspects in this.
It is very difficult to predict which way the situation is going. This is a very volatile country. But the protesters have managed to send a message to the international community that social unrest is a serious problem and that is going to undermine trust in the Greek government.
